“Myron’s story is an excellent example of Benton Harbor creating a success by maximizing the resources and programs of multiple agencies in our community’s continuum of care,” said Michael Green, executive director of Harbor Habitat for Humanity. “The commitment and dedication of all our community partners, both for-profit and not-for-profit, makes it possible for Habitat to continue breaking generational cycles of poverty and building affordable housing for homeownership for low-income families.” The new house will be dedicated July 24 at Harbor Habitat’s Centennial House Celebration. Construction on the house is expected to last through mid July. It is one of six new houses Harbor Habitat plans to build on Butternut Street during the 2010 build season.
